General information for Authors

Presentations should be submitted by email (details concerning the upload will be communicated accordingly) between 11 and 30 April 2011, and may also be personally handed in to the Speakers’ Ready Room at any time during the conference, but not later than 60 minutes prior to the according session. The use of own laptops is not allowed due to the closed information system which provides each session room simultaneously with the respective part of the scientific programme. Slide and overhead projections will not be available. Exceptions have to be reported as early as possible to the congress office.

All data will be deleted irrevocably after the congress.

Speaking Times

Scheduled time for oral presentations (unless otherwise indicated) is 7 min. and 3 min. for discussion. In order to guarantee punctual organisation of the entire programme, all speakers are requested to stick to their allocated presentation times. The chairperson of each session will be entitled to interrupt a presentation if a speaker exceeds the allocated time.

As this year’s congress will be international we would like to ask you to prepare all the presentation data in English. Please be also ready to present your paper in English. The chairman of each session will decide whether it will be held in English or German.

Projection Facilities in the Meeting Rooms

All presentation files of short oral presentations, lectures and posters will be stored on a central server before and during the congress. The speakers have access to their presentations for the respective session from a personal computer at the speaker’s desk.
In order to guarantee a smooth flow within the sessions, all speakers are asked to hand in solely files in English in Microsoft Power-Point format version XP. Mac presentations might create conversion problems that the service staff at the Media Check would try to solve.
The files should be saved under the name of the speaker and the lecture number, possibly under the date and time of the presentation but not under such general names as the congress’ name.
Following data storage media are suitable to copy your presentation into the information system:
MS-Windows CD-ROM compatible (ISO 9660) or DVD-ROM
USB stick (as a precaution bring the driver with you)
Graphic data should be embedded into the presentation, and video and audio data (*.avi format with DIVX (as of version 7) or uncompressed) must be linked with the presentation and should be added separately. Please apply exclusively Windows-compatible fonts.
